What? Oh right, I'm Sekhmet, caretaker of the Zu. Now don't ask me what a Zu is because I can't tell you. The basic summary is trouble, especially that Rei! Ugh...

Hm? Show you? I don't know, I don't exactly trust you. Well, I guess you're okay. Right, before you go in, do you have any sugar? No? Good. Caffeine? None, good. Shiny and/or valuable objects? If you do, take them in at your own risk, and don't blame me if you can't find it anymore. Okay, good enough, now you can enter the Serengeti.

You walk into what looks like a mix between a large grassland and a rainforest. Before you is a wide stretch of long, gold grass, large sandstone formations poking in and out of the waves. Among them are gigantic trees forming a leafy canopy, letting in dappled sunlight to create illusions on the ground. Running through is a river, wide and crystal clear deep enough to swim in. Small shrubs and trees are scattered all over, growing what looks like an assortment of fruit and berries or exotic looking flowers. There is an air of playfulness in the area, making you feel like a child again.

Suddenly you hear a small sound, almost like a laugh. Something moves near a close by rock. The grass ripples with it's movements. You stand very still, not quite scared but shocked nonetheless. The ripples move closer, stop, and the laughter is heard again. Suddenly you are face to face with a small, not-quite-but-maybe-a-kangaroo-rat creature. It has long ears, like a rabbit but pointed, and one of them is cocked to one side, almost quizically. It's long, tufted tail sways back and forth slowly. You notice kangaroo like haunches but front legs rather like a cat's. It is beige in color, with light tan spots. It's black eyes stare up at you, examining you.

"Hey there," you reach out a hand. Surprisingly, it garbs the hand and sniffs at it, examining it quite boldly. Your too shocked to pull it away.

The creature, its curiosity quenched for the meanwhile, lets go and scratches its ear. "You look friendly enough, welcome to Serengeti."

"You can talk?!"

"So can you," it points out. "My name is Rei, I'm a Zu."

"A what?"

"A Zu. Me and my friends live here, after we were adopted from Zuli, that is. Now we live here, in Serengeti."

"Isn't the Serengeti a plain in Africa? Wait, there are more of you?"

"Wrong Serengeti," it says wryly. "You ask alot of questions, your almost as curious as I am. And yes there are more of us."

At that more of the colorful creatures emerge from the grass, rocks, trees. "They're right here!"

Rei is a very energetic young Zu, and the self-proclaimed leader of the Zus in Serengeti. He likes to play, especially games that involve racing. He likes to run and explore, and sometimes has the bad habit of getting into trouble and sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. he is very curious, too curious, and has a short attention span and a bit of an attitude.

Stormy is a calm, intelligent young lady. She likes to explore, but she is a bit of a loner and doesn't socialize very often. She can be playful at times and social, but there are times when she can be mean and spiteful. Like her name, she loves the rain.

Neo is Rei's voice of reason. He and Rei are best friends and often go on escapades together. However, unlike Rei, he knows the boundaries of what they should, and can, do. But of course, Rei seldom listens. Neo has a cool, calm personality and is a good listener and mature. But he does have a playful side.

Gemini is a very quiet, shy Zu, kind of uncommon among her friends. She pretty much spends her time alone, away from other people. She has a very nice personality, and is very amiable once you get to know her. Unfortunately, since she hides so often, she is seldom seen anywhere. She has a habit of disappearing for days at a time with no one knowing of her whereabouts.
